The doors to the new premises of the Geneva Business School Barcelona campus were opened on Wednesday February 24th, where guests were greeted with a glass of cava and a guided tour of the building. The official opening ceremony of the impressive new campus was attended by prominant figures from the city’s business, arts and education sectors, as well as by GBS students themselves. After some mingling and canapés, the GBS Barcelona campus Director Carlos Moreno González kicked off the speeches with some exciting words about the vision of the campus. This was followed by a speech from the Dean of Geneva Business School, Dr. Brahim Gacem, who travelled from Geneva to join us. Another interesting speaker to take to the podium was Jordi Mármol, Director General of the International Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Barcelona (CIE), a Business Partner of Geneva Business School.

Two very important figures within the city of Barcelona were the last to address the party: Xavier Trias, the former mayor of Barcelona, and Bruno Ryff, the Swiss Consul for Switzerland in Barcelona. Trias spoke of his time in office, focussing on the sizeable and impressive development of Barcelona since the 1992 Summer Olympics, and how the city continues along this path of progress. Ryff talked of Switzerland’s presence in the city, and how it works collaboratively with the rest of Barcelona to maintain and create positive and effective business relationships.

All in all, the evening was a great success! Check out some of the GBS Barcelona campus photos from the event below.
